Customer experience (CX) encompasses the quality of all the interactions a consumer has with a company, in its entirety, and remains one of the hottest topics in marketing. In a recent Gartner survey of CX Marketers, “more than two-thirds said that their companies compete on the basis of CX.” Gartner expects this to rise to 81 percent by 2019!
If we know that CX should be a top priority, why is it so difficult for companies to deliver? Many marketers struggle connecting the external side of CX with the internal operations and processes that determine the experience. This struggle can inevitably lead to a delay in the adoption of even the simplest of measures that can result in a better customer experience. Yet, CX can be a leading differentiator for your company and is often what enables premium pricing and increased sales.

David Gardner
David is Head of Marketing for Chaordix, a global leader in crowd-sourced innovation and co-creation software, working with diverse global brands, such as The LEGO Group. With over 10 years experience in digital marketing strategy, David specializes in engaging customers through the power of community and customer participation. Prior to joining Chaordix, David served as Content Marketing Director for SoFi (Social Finance) in San Francisco, a fast-growing fintech company. He has also worked as Director, Digital Strategy with TMP Worldwide, a global ad agency, overseeing digital engagement strategies for several Fortune 500 brands, including HP and eBay.
Hilary Zaharko
As VP Marketing at H&R Block, Hilary is responsible for leading all national brand marketing activities, client experience and business development. She has extensive experience in marketing research, developing marketing talent, strategic development, client journey mapping and NPS. Hilary believes in leveraging consumer insights for both campaigns and CX that help drive tangible business results. Prior to joining H&R Block, Hilary led the marketing for a mid-sized hotel & resort real estate company. She began her career in the agency world as account director overseeing communication strategies for several international clients.
Jeff Bradshaw
Having started his career in radio advertising sales in 1990 and then moving into television with CTV in 1991, Jeff’s branding, marketing and communications experience dates back 27 years within the Calgary market. In 1996 Jeff started Zoom Communications Inc. which today is known as V Strategies. V is a creative agency that specializes in visual storytelling and has a learning and engagement division called V Learning which specializes in Blended Visual Learning solutions. In additional to V Jeff is also the president and co-founder of MAMMOTH VR, a virtual reality and augmented reality production company.
Karen Gasper
As a Strategic Account Executive with Canada Post, Karen is adept at extrapolating the findings from numerous marketing research studies commissioned by the company, to deliver insightful best practices around Smartmail Marketing to marketers, agencies, and Canada Post clients around the country. With her deep understanding of the science of marketing, media sales, and digital media services, Karen is able to bring seemingly contradictory elements together in unusual and unexpected ways. Karen is always looking for creative ways to make her clients’ marketing campaigns fully integrated in order to surpass their objectives.

With a BA in Psychology, English and a background in journalism, Adam was drawn early in his career to the growing phenomenon of social media. Adam was honoured to be named one of Alberta Venture’s Next 10 in 2011, Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2013, and to receive the University of Alberta Alumni Horizon Award in 2014.
